For those who are not aware, responsive theme refers to one single theme that will scale itself according to the screen size. Regardless you are using a smartphone, tablet or a computer, the website will look similar (with different layout, of course). The greatest benefit of a responsive theme is that you need to manage only one theme and there is lesser overhead on your server resources since you no longer have to detect the user-agent and serve different theme according to the screen size. If you are planning to switch to a responsive theme, Responsinator is one tool that is very useful for you. By entering a URL, it shows how your theme render on each screen size. It saves you the money to get each individual device, and save you the time and effort by showing the various screen size all in one page. Go to Responsinator. At the top left corner, enter your site’s URL and click “GO”. That’s all you need to do.
When the site loads finish, you will see a mockup of your website in different devices and resolution.
This will give you a starting point to view how responsiveness your theme is. One thing though, Responsinator does not support retina display, so while the site looks nice on the iPhone/iPad mockup, it might look pixelated on the actual devices. In addition, the support for Android phone mockup is pretty crappy. The 240×320 and 295×516 resolution for Android devices are definitely for the lowest end Android phone, but there are many other Android phone with much higher resolution and they are not included in the list.
