What you are doing here is downloading the song, listening it, and deleting it so it does not occupy the memory. This is NOT the most efficient and fastest way to have access to your music files stored on the cloud. A better approach would be to use an app that lets you directly stream your music files from the cloud on your Android device. This way, you will not have to download any of your files, they will be streamed to your device instead. For this purpose, we are going to be using an app called Beat – cloud & music player. It is a multifunctional app that offers a number of features you can leverage to satisfy all of your music needs. Whether your music is stored on Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, or OneDrive (formerly known as SkyDrive), you will be able to stream it right on your device.
Streaming Music on an Android Device
Follow the steps given below and you will be all set:
Head over to the Google Play and download and install the Beat – cloud & music player app on your device.
Launch the app on your device.
The first screen of the app should ask you to accept their agreement. Just hit the button that says “Accept” and it will let you move to the next screen.
On the screen that follows, choose the source for your music files. Tap the button that says “Cloud”. It will select Cloud as your source of music files.
The next screen presents you with the cloud storage providers the app has support for. Tap on the cloud you have stored your music files with, say Dropbox, for example.
It will then take you to your respective cloud provider’s website for authorization. When it does, just fill-in the login info of your provider and hit “Sign in”.
Tap on “Allow” on the screen that follows for the app to be able to access your files. It will then send you back to the app you were using for streaming.
It will then load up all the folders you have with your Cloud. Tap on the one where your music files are saved, the Music folder, as it is in my case.
You should now be presented with all of the music files available inside the folder. Just tap on any music file you wish to play and your device will start playing it.
You are all set. Your device can now play any of the music files stored on any of the supported Cloud platform. Besides playing music, you can do some other things as well. For example, you can create playlists, enable visualizer, enable equalizer, and so on.
