When dowloading epub files from websites, the extension detects it and automatically opens a new tab with the file ready for viewing. There will also be another tutorial showing a handful keyboard shortcuts for functions such as flipping through pages and adjusting the text size. If you want to open existing epub files from your computer, simply click on the File menu in FireFox and go to Open File. You can also drag a file into a browser window to open the file. Both methods should show you the e-book within the browser. When you first open an epub using this extension, you’ll get a window with a brief tutorial about navigating through the book using the keyboard.
If the e-book has a Table of Contents, this is shown in a scrollable sidebar on the left-hand side of the window. You may click on the links to go to that specific part of the e-book. There are also two ways to view the e-book using this extension: Vertically (allows scrolling up and down) or Horizontally (flipping pages). You can toggle from between these options by clicking on the paper icon on the bottom right corner of the screen.
The extension remembers all the epub files you open within FireFox and creates a gallery that you can view. Simply click on the book icon on the top right corner of the Menu bar. The e-books are organized by Title, Author and Date Added. You also have buttons to save or delete these files.
The gallery can further be organized by adding tags and applying it to each e-book. To do this, open the gallery and click on Tag. A pop-up box should appear where you can type the name of the new tag. Once tags are added in, you can go back to each e-book title and apply tags as necessary by clicking on the tag button. If you want to search for book titles, the extension comes with built in access to Archive.org, Feedbooks.com and Guttenburg.org. On the left sidebar, click on the drop down box where you see Private Library and choose the book directory of your choice. You can browse from a list of book titles or search for specific ones. To open an e-book, click on the book icon on the bottom of the book description.
